Event Display
- Name - Enter a name for the iPart. This text only appears
during design mode (configuration).
- Do not render in design mode - To boost performance
during design time (configuration), enable this checkbox to prevent content
record data from being loaded in the content editor.
- Display a border around this content - If you want a
border to appear around this iPart on the rendered page, enable this checkbox.
- Event key - The key of the specific event to be
displayed. This comes from the
Event.EventKey column. This comes
from the Event Code defined in iMIS Desktop >
Events > Define an event. The key may also be supplied via
the URL. A key specified in the iPart configuration takes precedence over a
key in the URL.
- Width of image - The width in pixels of the image to be
displayed. Smaller pictures are scaled up to this width; larger pictures are
scaled down.
- 0 - displays the image at full size
- 1 - hides the image
- IQA query or folder used when registering someone else - (required
if the event setup in Desktop enables multiple
registrations) The default query
$/EventManagement/DefaultSystem/Queries/Advanced/Event/Registrant
Search lists the user's coworkers, but you may need to broaden or tighten
its criteria. If you write your own query, you must include the following
Query Display Columns:
- The NetContact.IMIS ID property. On the
Display tab in iQA, set the Order for this property to
1. To hide the ID field in the query results, give this
property an Alias of code_ID.
- An iMIS Id property.
- A name property, so that it is clear which contact the user is
selecting.
Notes
- Calling events by URL
- If a key value is not set in the configuration page, the iPart looks for
the key in the URL. To include the key in the URL, use the parameter name
EventKey, such as ?EventKey=SPR12 ?EventKey=72290518-44B9-428B-909D-10142B4B6B9F.
A key specified in the iPart configuration takes precedence over a key in
the URL.
- If no Event key is specified, the iPart hides itself on
the page.
- If the URL includes iSearchResult=true, an iPart with a
valid key does not hide itself when the event is not found but reports that
the event was deleted.
- Defining events in iMIS Desktop
- Visibility: To make an event appear in the search
results of any Common Search iPart (including Event
List), flag it for web display in iMIS Desktop: when editing an
event, enable More > Web Options, Show this
event on the Web?
- Multiple registrations: Max Registrations per
Registrant function field does not affect the Register Someone
Else feature supported in iPart-based sites. Note that Register
Someone Else must be enabled in Desktop.
- Web options: Event iParts do not support the
Web setup wizard options, such as guests, surveys, and
registration steps.
- Setting event pricing
- To charge a default fee for an event, create one function
that has Is an Event Option as well as Show this function on the
web? enabled.
- To offer a choice of fee levels (such as Full
Conference versus Exhibition Only), create functions for each
level and enable both options for each.
